Your pet’s health comes first.
Our mission at Cody Pet Hospital (formerly Whispering Pines) is to provide veterinary services to our patients and clients which are unmatched at other practices. Specifically, our practice believes in treating each patient as a member of the client’s family. Our vets and staff members strive to offer a friendly environment, quality medicine, thorough client education and emotional support for all your important decisions.
We treat mostly cats and dogs but also provide veterinary care for small mammals, such as rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, hamsters, and chinchillas and reptiles. We emphasize wellness care, preventive medicine, quality of life, and pain management. We are the only animal hospital in Norfolk MA. We serve the communities of Norfolk, Wrentham, Foxboro and Walpole in addition to Franklin, Norwood, Plainville, and the surrounding towns.
We’re one big family!
Kate Pillsbury, DVM
Dr. Pillsbury is a 1991 graduate of Tufts Veterinary School. Prior to Veterinary School she received a B.S. in Biology from Middlebury College and a Master’s in marine biology from the University of Miami. Dr. Pillsbury opened up Whispering Pines Animal Hospital with a total of 30 clients in 1996. The practice grew over the years and then expanded to a second location on Rte 1 in Walpole in 2008. This second location was called Cody Pet Hospital. We had two locations for five years, but finally decided it would be best to consolidate. In May of 2013 we merged the two practices keeping the name Cody Pet Hospital and the single location of 5 Sharon Ave in Norfolk. We feel lucky at Cody Pet in that we have many customers who have been with us since we opened!
Dr. Pillsbury feels that pets play an important role in the family. She does wellness exams, diagnostics, medicine, hospitalization, surgery, anesthesia, and dentistry. She takes care of all life stages from puppies and kittens to adult pets to geriatric. In addition to cats and dogs, she sees less usual pets such as including rabbits and guinea pigs, chinchillas, geckos, and bearded dragons.
Dr. Pillsbury lives in Wrentham with her husband and two cats and two dogs. Their daughter Erika is married, working as a teacher and living in Alaska, while their son is working in Wrentham and living in Providence RI. Outside of veterinary medicine Dr. Pillsbury likes the outdoors, sprint triathlons, and water and snow sports.
We have a very talented and experienced technical staff at Cody Pet Hospital. Kelly Bosh, our office manager has two very important roles. She is our office manager and keeps our entire hospital running smoothly. She is also the primary receptionist and will most likely be the person on the other end of the phone when you call us. We are lucky that Kelly celebrated her 15th year with us in September 2017.
Brian, Karen, and Lauren complete our staff. Brian, like Kelly, is a long-time employee. He has been with us over ten years. Brian works as a veterinary technician and has the added responsibility of keeping the physical equipment and building running and working properly. Karen is our friendly, bright, and happy receptionist! Lauren is working at Cody Pet Hospital while going to school to become certified as a veterinary technician. We’re very proud of our entire team!
